Engineering Consultant for Oxford Township since May 2011. Our past knowledge and experience paired with the company’s specific emphasis on cost-effective solutions were key to Oxford Township awarding Sharpe Engineering the contract. Some of the specific engineering services provided include:

Review conceptual, site plan, and engineering drawing submittals for new developments

Design safety path network expansions. Topographical survey, easement preparation, conceptual planning, construction administration, and inspection services are also provided

Design public water distribution and sanitary sewer system expansions

Perform soil erosion plan reviews and inspections
-
Review residential plot plans for conformance with Township engineering standards

Assist with Township cemeteries including roadway improvements, irrigation upgrades, and grave layouts

Meet with Township residents regarding civil related issues involving their property




Paving

Prepare cost estimates and scoping plans to assist Township with fund allocation

Provide strip topographic survey and detailed engineering plans for proposed improvements

Prepare contract documents and manage contractor bidding phase

Coordinate with Road Commission for Oakland County on tri-party funded projects

Provide full-time inspection of construction activities

Assist Township in preparation of payment estimates and contract execution




Infrastructure Design

Prepare and secure public utility easements necessary for construction

Obtain required Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner, and Great Lakes Water Authority permits

Provide full-time inspection of construction activities

Coordinate utility testing with permitting agencies and assist with project closeout

Assist Township in preparation of payment estimates and contract execution

Lyon Township DDA: Jim was the associate responsible for the design and project management of several municipal projects in Lyon Township, including:

The West Pontiac Trail project which included 3 miles of Water Main and 1 mile of Sanitary Force Main with Pump Station

The Southwest Water Main SAD, Design for 3.5 miles of 16-inch Water Main and appurtenances
- Martindale Road which included water main and the construction of RCOC Road

Lyon Township Consultant: Jim was responsible for the design and construction administration for several infrastructure projects, including:

The water main and sanitary sewer project along Pontiac Trail Road, which consisted of 10,000 feet of 16" water main and a pressurized sanitary sewer system complete with pumping station

The 10 Mile Road Water Main Project consisting of 6,800 feet of 16" water main and the connection of two portions of the Township's water system to create a looped setup

Plans for road widening projects along 10 Mile Road consisting of storm drainage, curb and gutter, and new asphalt pavement

1,800 feet of water main and associated paved roadway improvements
