James W. Sharpe, PE, PS
Mr. Sharpe has over 30 years of civil engineering planning, design and management experience, as well as boundary and field surveying. He has provided these engineering and surveying services for numerous residential subdivision and condominium projects, commercial and mixed-use private development projects, as well as municipal infrastructure projects. His versatility includes design in the areas of new water main, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer infrastructure as well as water main and sewer replacement, and pavement rehabilitation. The work he performs also necessitates the preparation of construction specifications, cost estimating, bidding, scheduling, construction administration, and the preparation of various permit applications.

Take projects from the conceptual phase through the final approval phase. Necessary work included site planning, surveying, engineering design, permitting, and construction administration of residential, commercial, mixed use, retail, institutional, and research developments.
Roadway network design for private and public sector projects. Past projects included the design of residential and industrial streets, parking lots, and road resurfacing. Work has also included Road Commission tri-party and MDOT design projects.

Oxford Township: Jim is the principal in charge of Sharpe Engineering’s current contract with Oxford Township. Jim and his staff prepare designs for Oxford’s municipal water main, sanitary sewer, non-motorized pathways, roadway and other projects. Residential / Mixed Use:
Water supply, treatment, and distribution including the planning, design, and construction supervision of several water supply and distribution systems. Projects included municipal well improvements and system expansions, as well as numerous water supply system extensions to service private developments.
Sanitary sewer designs for sewage disposal systems for clients in both the private and municipal sectors as well as residential and commercial septic systems.
Storm Water Management
Storm water management system master planning, design, and construction. Design of traditional detention, retention, sedimentation, and erosion control systems for residential development projects as well as infiltration and rain garden systems for commercial and industrial projects. Experience includes mitigation plans for floodplain, wetlands, critical waterways, and county drains.
Analyze existing municipal infrastructure systems including water main, sanitary sewer, storm water management, and pavement systems. Identify problems and deficiencies, and propose corrective courses of action. Performed value-engineering analysis and assisted in establishing bond programs for infrastructure projects.
Mt Elliott Cemetery Association: We currently provide engineering design for all improvements at each of the association’s facilities.
