Mt. Elliott Cemetery Association​
Southeast Michigan

Sharpe Engineering serves as the primary engineering consultant to MECA and their five cemetery locations. Jim Sharpe is the engineer of record for numerous large developments and also assists with the ongoing operations of the cemeteries. Some of the specific engineering services provided to the client include: 

 

  • Designed and maintained internal cemetery road network

  • Designed new utilities associated with expansions

  • Created burial section CAD layouts and cemetery expansion drawings

  • Prepared site plans and collaborated with architectural consultants during mausoleum developments

  • Input new grave lot data into cemetery's GIS

  • Provided topographical surveying and grave staking for new section layouts

Queen of Peace Chapel and Mausoleum 

Sharpe Engineering is the Civil engineering consultant consisting of 3 separate mausoleum buildings and 1 chapel. For this mausoleum some of the specific engineering services provided include: 

  • Design of water and sanitary systems to service the development​​

  • Design of underground storm water drainage system​​

 

  • Detailed grading of roadways, sidewalks, and greenbelt areas. 

​Clover Hill Park Cemetery
Birmingham, Michigan

Jim Sharpe was responsible for site plans and engineering design of the 2004 expansions to the prestigious 60 acre Clover Hill Park Cemetery just east of the Woodward corridor.  Some of the specific engineering design elements included:

 

  • Configured internal road network and improvements​

  • Designed on-site storm water management systems​

  • Designed private sanitary sewer system​

  • Prepared individual site plans and engineering plans for the cemetery's new administrative office building, 5 acre expansion, and 7.5 acre expansion

Clinton Grove Cemetery
Clinton Township, Michigan

Sharpe Engineering has provided burial layout planning and expansion consultation services to the Cemetery since 2015.  Clinton Grove Cemetery was organized in 1855 and is considered Macomb County’s oldest operating cemetery.  Some of the specific services provided include:

 

  • Provided topographical surveys for upcoming facility improvements

  • Configured new burial sections within the existing cemetery​

  • Coordinated new gravel layouts with future roadway and cemetery expansion areas.
